Hello Friend Newsletter in EnglishNewsletter auf Deutsch

Frankfurt is the most sustainable city in the world, followed by London and Copenhagen. These are the findings of the Sustainable Cities Index, in which, for the first time, fifty cities were examined with respect to various criteria associated with sustainability. Frankfurt came in number one not only in the subcategory "Environment" but also in "Economy". In the subcategory "People", the city was ranked ninth.

City Ranking In addition to Frankfurt, the capital of Germany, Berlin, is also listed in the Sustainable Cities Index. In the category "Environment" Berlin stands directly behind Frankfurt on the list at second place. Pivotal in the favorable placement of both of these German cities so high on the list was their minimal air pollution. In the aggregate standings of all 50 large cities, Berlin came in at a respectable sixth place.

So, have you developed an interest in coming to Frankfurt? Then let's go! Participants 17 years of age and older can begin learning German every Monday at did deutsch-institut-Frankfurt. This is the case year round! Our institute is in Sachsen-hausen, the area of the city most well known for entertainment, restaurants and clubs. It's the perfect way to combine exploring the city with learning the language.

The Junior Residence Course offers younger participants ages 14-17 an awesome opportunity to get to know Frankfurt and its surroundings. The residence itself serves simultaneously as a lodging facility as well as an educational complex, which guarantees a safe and comfortable stay. The modern double and 4-bed rooms, all outfitted with their own baths, add to the overall comfort.

Claire Twyman, journalist for the industry publication Study Travel Magazine, currently reports over her two language learning experiences at did deutsch-institut: "Having studied at the centre in Munich in 2012, last December I took German classes at did deutsch-institut Berlin. This is the first time that I have studied at two schools belonging to the same chain, and I am pleased to report that, from my experience, it is a slick operation that successfully manages the student experience from enrolment to evaluation". Why Berlin?

Omer from Israel: "Why did I come here? Berlin is a large and beautiful city with people from all over the entire world. I like everything about this German metropolis, from the bad weather to the crazy people in the subway. After all, that is what Berlin is all about! I love Germany, the language and the people here. In Berlin I had the chance to begin an entirely new life. I really had a wonderful time in the German capital city and I can truly recommend to anyone from abroad a visit to Germany and the did deutsch institut". Read more
