Interested in studying in Germany? The University Placement Program offers international students, who would like to begin a course of study at a German University, the opportunity to become extensively in­formed about this country’s system of higher education. In addition to personal counseling regarding se­lec­tion of an appropriate field of study as well as study location, the applicant’s academic resume will be re­viewed with a particular eye towards the admission requirements for studying at a German university.

Early Bird Special extended until October 31, 2010! Collaboration and cooperation with a large number of uni­ver­si­ties make it possible to ensure international applicants max­imum security during the placement process. If the academic requirements are fulfilled, enrollment in the university will follow. In order to de­mon­strate the requisite German skills, we re­com­mend enrolling in the TestDaF Preparation Courses from did deutsch-institut with subsequent completion of the TestDaF exam.

If acceptance directly into a university is not possible, the advising efforts will focus on university pre­pa­ra­tion (Studienkolleg). Acceptance into a university pre­pa­ra­to­ry institute presumes a good knowledge of German at the middle level (minimum completion of the B1 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, CEFR), which can be acquired in Intensive and Premium Courses, and can be proven with the B1 Diploma Exam, an exam offered by did deutsch institut.

Preparation Courses

 In order to study at a Ger­man university as a foreign student, adequate German language skills must be exhibited. Passage of the TestDaF serves as sufficient proof. Language course, TestDaF Preparation Course and exam – all three occur in our institutions directly! The four-week preparation course with 80 lessons offers test-taking strategies, broadens language competence and prepares participants through specially designed sample exams. GfdS German Language Society Since 1990 all diploma exams of did deutsch-institut are under the control of the German Language Society (Gesellschaft für deutsche Sprache, GfdS). Together with the GfdS, did deutsch-institut has developed a national and internationally recognized diploma examination.
TestDaF Examination The did deutsch-institutes in Berlin, Frankfurt and Munich are licensed to administer the examination TestDaF — a university language examination which is required in order to be accepted for study at a German university.
Member of EAQUALS The quality standards of did deutsch-institutes in Berlin, Frankfurt and Munich have been controlled regularly and for many years by EAQUALS — the leading European Association for Quality Language Services.
WYSE Travel Confederation Since 1979 did deutsch-institut is a member of the Federation of International Youth Travel Organizations FIYTO. In 2006, FIYTO and the International Student Travel Confederation (ISTC) merged to form the World Youth Student and Educational (WYSE) Travel Confederation, a 550 member organisation representing the global community of youth travel, student travel, cultural exchange and international education specialists.
