Hello Friend Newsletter in EnglishNewsletter auf Deutsch

In 2013, over 180,000 foreign students began their studies at a German institution of higher learning. The number of international students in Germany in the last five years has risen almost 25 percent. And if you look ten years back you will see that today the number of foreign students has doubled. Are you interested in studying in Germany too?

did deutsch-institut Our University Placement Program offers international students the opportunity to become thoroughly informed about the college/university system here in Germany. In addition to advice on choosing a suitable course of study and desirable institution, we review an applicant’s academic resume with an eye towards making sure the admission requirements for that course of study and institution are met.

Should the academic requirements of an institution be fulfilled, the applicant will receive an acceptance to study. The requisite German language skills and knowledge can be substantiated with the German as a Foreign Language Test (TestDaF). Our institutes in Berlin, Frankfurt, Hamburg and Munich are all licensed TestDaF testing centers and offer special TestDaF Preparation Courses six times per year.

If direct admission to college/university is not possible, our advisors will concentrate on seeking admission to a preparatory college. Admission to a preparatory college requires intermediate German language skills and knowledge at the B1 level (minimum). These skills can be acquired in Intensive and Premium Courses and substantiated by successful completion of the B1 diploma examination.

TestDaF schedule
for the year 2015

In order for foreign students to study at a German college or university, they must prove sufficient German language skills. Successful completion of the TestDaF is acceptable as proof. Language courses, TestDaF Preparation Courses and the test itself can all be completed directly at our institutes! The 4-week, 80-lesson preparation course teaches preparation strategies, improves language competence and trains students through targeted practice exams. FAM Trip through
Southern Germany

Above all, the trip was arduous. Over 1,500 kilometers in just three days! Even so, our international partners were thrilled with the tour through southern Germany, in which we introduced them to our various course locations. From Munich (language institute and junior residence) we went on to Hintersee in the alps and then further to our year-round school for juniors in Augsburg. There was one more stop in Höchst im Odenwald before we arrived at our final destination: Frankfurt am Main. See all the beautiful trip photos here.

Why Berlin?

Bethany from the USA: "I study international marketing and the German language opens many doors for me in this field. Why did I come to did deutsch-institut? My sister had already learned German here and warmly recommended the school to me. I decided on Berlin because it is the capital city of Germany and offers so many historical sights and attractions to visit and discover.
I am taking a small bear figurine back home as a souvenir. The bear appears on the coat of arms as a symbol for the city of Berlin."
