Video: Star Award Gala “...and the winner is: did deutsch-institut!” For the fifth time, following 2006, 2007, 2009 and 2011, did deutsch-institut receives the coveted STM Star Award in 2012 – the highest honor in the language industry. And as a five-time winner, did deutsch-institut moves into the STM Super Star Hall of Fame. We thank all of our partners, friends and customers world wide for this terrific success! German courses in Potsdam The historic city of Potsdam lies just a short train ride away from the capital city of Berlin. It offers a contrast to the big city flair of Berlin, which could hardly be more distinct. In addition to its famous castles such as Sanssouci, the Neues Palais (New Palace) and the Orangerie, Potsdam is a very modern city. Young people between the ages of 12-16 can attend a German class in Potsdam with host family accommodation from June 30 through August 3, 2013.

German courses in Vienna Castle Belvedere, St. Stephen’s Cathedral and Prater (park) – these are just a few of the sights and attractions that make a trip to Vienna worthwhile! Brand new is our summer course offering for youth with accommodation in the newly built residence hall. From June 23 to August 3, 2013, young people aged 14-17 can learn German in the ambiance of Emperor Franz and Sissi. Vienna is simultaneously classic and flashy, contemplative and exciting!

Adult language learners have the opportunity to learn German year-round in our institutes in Berlin, Frankfurt, Hamburg and Munich, either from the ground up or by building on previously acquired knowledge. Courses for individuals with prior knowledge begin every Monday, whereas those for absolute beginners have specific starting dates, which can be found here.

In order to study at a German university, it is necessary to have very good German language proficiency. Successful completion of the TestDaF examination is a requirement for university admission. Our Berlin, Frankfurt, Hamburg and Munich institutes offer the necessary support to pass this exam. You can prepare for it with a four-week TestDaF examination course in one of our institutes and then take the examination right on site. Current exam dates can be found here.

This summer, a former did deutsch-institut course participant returned with a special request: to participate in a matter of great personal importance to him. In 2004, Italian Giuseppe studied German at the did deutsch-institut in Berlin. There something happened – he met Ana, the woman of his dreams! How and where the two met, when they get married and what the whole thing has to do with the snack vending machine at our Berlin institute can be read here.

Why Frankfurt?

Washington Luiz from Brazil: “did deutsch-institut is very well known in Brazil for the quality of its German courses. I enjoy the life in Frankfurt very much; So far, going to a soccer game for the Frankfurt team ‘Eintracht’ in the Commerzbank Arena has been the best; It was awesome! I find it especially nice that I have the opportunity to get to know so many people from different countries and experience so many new things from a variety of cultures.” Read more
